Portland Happy Hour: Alameda Brewing Co.

What: Alameda Brewing Co.
Where: 4765 NE Fremont St
When: 3-6pm Mon-Fri & 9pm-close everyday
Honeys Heart: $5 Chicken Strips

Moving is the worst. Doug and I did it last weekend and we have vowed that we will stay in our new apartment probably forever because there is no way we ever want to go through that hassle again.

One good thing about moving though, it's a good excuse to eat out. On Friday, after a long day of shuttling boxes between apartments, we headed to Alameda Brewing Co's late night happy hour.

Alameda Brewing Co. serves gussied up pub food and several local drafts, including their own.  Happy hour offerings are $3 drafts and a $5 food menu.

Doug and I each chose one dish off the 13-item happy hour menu.

I picked Lemon-Pepper Chicken Strips. I would include a photo, but the only one I have is really awkward. You wouldn't want to see it. Anyway, the breading on the chicken strips was more like what you would expect on fish & chips, but I enjoyed the departure from the usual. I would definitely order these again.

Doug chose the South-of-the-Brewhouse Nachos.

These were huge. Unlike the chicken strips, they were nothing out of the ordinary, but tasty nonetheless.

Other menu options include a rock shrimp quesadilla, artichoke spinach & herb dip, and onion rings.

The food was good and Doug loves the beer offerings, so I’m sure we’ll be back for happy hour again soon!
